In San Antonio, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Texas, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

San Antonio is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around San Antonio is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If you have zero self control like myself, bring a lunch box or small ice chest with you when you come to visit. We were only supposed to get one paleta EACH, but ended up buying 12 πŸ˜† also! The cheese cake one is BOMB! And coffee lovers try the coffee one!

BEST PALETAS IN THE CITY!!! Grew up eating them at school events; now I'll drive across town to stock my freezer! The Cookies n' Cream and the coffee ones are great dairy ones!

great place to get ice cream bars, but small place inside so it does get easily crowded. after check-out they do hand you a bag or box, but do bring something for the ride home so the ice cream doesn't melt!

I always loved getting my paletas here, not sure how to spell it, but I’m referring to the Mexican style type popsicles. I think that they make them with fresh ingredients or it tastes like they do. The flavors are all really good, but I love the Horchata, vanilla with raisins, strawberry cream, pina colada, coconut, and bubble gum, ones a lot. They also have the traditional type flavors like Tamarindo, Mango, Pickle, etc. as well. Even the coffee one was ok. I wish they had a Taro root flavor and an Ube flavor and a cardamon flavor as well but maybe one day!! I had to deduct a star cause the man who is able to grab the dry ice with his bare hands didn’t give me enough. I asked him to put enough to where it wouldn’t melt so I could drive the 45 minutes home and whatever it was I’d pay the amount he requested for the dry ice and my order. I only had to drive 20 minutes away. When I got home about 10 of my 30 pack order were melted. He had placed just one chunk of dry ice in the middle, and told me that as long as I order 30 the dry ice didn’t have a cost. I told him I’ll pay what ever the cost I don’t want a melted watery mess, I want my paletas to be solid!! He told me no problem

Always a Blast! I love bringing out of town visitors here. Tons of flavors. Great price point. Love love love. Palletas are locally made ice cream pops; one case is full of nondairy pops, the other is dairy based. Definitely something for everyone. My favorite had been Pecan; but this visit definitely brought Strawberry and Cream to the front. YumπŸ₯°
